The two girls and I were watching Dr. Oz on television. The show was about healthy snacks. He said there was a better way to make popcorn than using the microwaveable popcorn. You know I never really liked the mess of microwave popcorn. I always felt that there was too much oil left in the bag and the popcorn was too greasy, and not to mention it smelled up the place. Every time I popped it, I would turn on stove vent and open the bag over it or I would go out on the patio or garage and open the bag so the house would not smell of popcorn for hours.
This is how I made the popcorn.
I used Orville Redenbacher's popcorn and olive oil. You can use about one tablespoon of olive oil.
Measure 1/4 cup of popcorn. If you want oil on the popcorn, measure about one tablespoon of olive oil and pour it on the kernel of corn. I have popped it with and without oil and I like it both ways.
Place popcorn in a brown paper bag.
Fold down bag.
Then place in microwave.
Pop the corn for around three minutes or if your microwave has a popcorn button, press it. The popcorn will be ready when the corn doesn't pop for a few seconds.
After the corn finishes popping, open bag and pour in bowl. Almost every kernel of corn popped and there was no oil in the bottom of bag.
There many flavor of seasonings available from the grocery store.
I like the butter flavor cooking spray. It is fat free and tastes good. Then season with salt.
