I really consider watermelons to be out of season in October. However, Texas can boast of a long growing season so we picked the last melon the first week in October. It was one of the best we've had this year. Grown in my backyard. You can do it too!

The watermelon looks yummy and Keren seems happy! Reminds me of our childhood days. Last year I had lots of watermelons into October. I produced a bumps crop. However, I didn't plant any this year.😞 Right now, I still have jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, banana peppers and cherry (grape) tomatoes. It's absolutely amazing that each survived the cold snaps we've had within the last few weeks. Your endeavorS are commendable & quite inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. So glad you are having gardening success. It is so rewarding. I guess this is true about me...."You"can take a girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl."

AuthorWelcome to my gardening blog. My father passed to me a love for gardening. I wanted to share this passion with my girls, so they would know the origin of their food. (not the local grocery store). So, I dedicated myself to giving them what my father gave me; and if I can inspire someone to garden, the reward is even greater. Archives
