Spring is here. I'm getting antsy about planting. But I called my mother
and realized that it's still too early. And if I bought the delicious vegetable
plants that were on sale at the local gardening store, I would be stuck with
trying to keep them alive for more than a month before planting. Really
considering fruit trees/bushes, particularly grape vines. The girls and I
bought some indoor and outdoor house plants and had to be satisfied. Also,
bought seeds packs for different lettuces I'm going to try this year.

Surprising, the strawberries I planted two years ago are producing good fruit for the first time. It takes patience with plants.

We had to pick strawberries very gently because they were very fragile but delicious.
I was expecting a dress for my youngest daughter’s dance recital. However,
when I got to the dancewear store it was not ready. We had about fifteen
minutes before I had to pick up my oldest daughter. I passed by a nursery
called Calloway’s and decided that my youngest and I could look around until
time to pick up my oldest daughter. I often find walking around in nurseries
very relaxing. Well, we saw a vegetable plant clearance table. My daughter
begged for the plants, so I bought three at a $1.46 a piece. They were marked
down because they were not in the best of shape.

These are the plants we bought from a nursery for $1.46 each. There's a zucchini tomato and cucumber plant. An added bonus: there were actually three cucumber plants in the pot.
The plants were dying, but my youngest was full of hope.
My youngest girl's garden is a kiddy swimming pool. I bought it from Wal-mart
last year for about $10.00. We drilled holes around the side so that water
would drain out. As you can see her vegetables are doing well. We added a
red, yellow and green bell pepper plants and a cantaloupe plant.

As I mentioned earlier, we bought plants from Calloway Nursery for the kiddy pool garden when my daughter and I were on our way back from the dance wear store. A week and a half later, the dress arrived and we purchased it. She's realy pround of it. (Click on photography tab to see other pics from her dance ministry.)
This is my garden before I started to plant vegetables.
I purchased this cedar kit from Lowe's about two years ago. I don't think it is carried anymore. I paid about $75.00 for it. It has worked well for my needs.
I got plants below from Westlake Ace Hardware. They are in need of water, but other than that they should grow just fine. They were marked down to $1.25 a plant.
The first two rows consist of chocolate bell peppers, tomatoes, and a cucumber plant . The last two are green beans planted from seed.
